Worship
Worship is woven into the very fabric of who we are at SBC and is embedded in our core ‘Meet God’ value. For us, worship is the act of coming into God’s presence, of encountering Him, and of worshipping him both in Spirit (with our heart and soul) and in Truth (with authenticity and based on Bible Truths). In worship, we offer our thanks and praise, as well as respond to Jesus as He meets us by His Spirit. We do this primarily through music and song, but also through prayer and the reading of His Word.
Our sung worship is mainly contemporary in style but with traditional worship woven in too, with the focus being on creating the space for people to come into God’s presence and engage with Him.
There are numerous areas within the wider worship ministry, from Vision and Sound tech, to playing instruments and singing. We have a great team of volunteers but are keen to welcome additional members, who have a love for Jesus and a passion to serve Him, even if they aren’t the ‘best’ musically! Our ethos is that attitude or character takes precedence over ability or competence.
