Phil Burns, Lead Minister
Phil joined the staff team in 2001 with a focus on youth ministry, after his previous job as a Primary teacher. In 2013 he took up the position of Associate Minister, and in 2021 he became Lead Minister. Phil recently completed his training at the Northern Baptist Learning Community, becoming an Accredited Baptist Minister. Phil is passionate about enabling people to meet God and discipling them to ensure that they grow to maturity in Christ. He also really enjoys leading worship. Phil is married to Helen and they have four children, Jacob, Reuben, Niamh and Eoin. He likes spending time with his family and watching films to relax.

Chloe Heskin, Children's Minister
Chloe joined the staff team in 2017. She is a qualified primary school teacher, with a degree in Primary Education. Chloe has had lots of experience in Christian Children’s Ministry, being part of Sunday schools, holiday clubs and many, many residential camps. Chloe has a real passion for giving children the opportunity to explore the bible and discover who Jesus is for themselves. She is married to Rob and, in her spare time loves to explore the Yorkshire Dales with him.

Matt Smith, Youth Minister
Matt has been at SBC for over 25 years and has grown up through the children and young peoples’ provision here. He studied theology at Nazarene Theological College, and he has a JNC qualification in youth work and has been a youth worker for 9 years. He joined the team in 2014 to look after the ever growing group of young people.
Matt believes in the importance of church being in the community, and loves doing detached work out in the communities. Matt is married to Lauren, and they have a little dog called Bertie. Matt enjoys playing his guitar, squash and football and eating fancy food.

Mick Dewhirst, Lay Pastor
Mick is married to Anne and has two grown up children, Sam and Harriet. Mick has recently completed Lay Pastor training. He has been a member at Skipton since 2008 . He is passionate about sharing real Christianity with people and loves being part of God's church meeting in Skipton. Mick has a passion for pastoral care and is working with the ministry team in that area.
